Having your own Minecraft server is the perfect way to play with your friends without depending on public servers and doing things your way. With Zelora you can have it online in a matter of minutes. This guide covers everything: from hiring to the first administration commands.
Choose your plan at Zelora
Go to zelora.es/plans/minecraft and select the plan that best fits the number of players you expect to receive. As a reference:
- Up to 6 players with light load → Stone Plan 2.5 GB
- Up to 12 players with few plugins/mods → Iron Plan 4 GB
- Up to 20 players with several plugins/mods → Diamond Plan 6 GB
If you are not sure, start with the Stone plan. You can upgrade at any time from your Client Area without losing data or uptime.
Set up your server in the configurator
Click on Configure on the chosen plan. The configurator will guide you through the key steps:
- 1Billing cycle: Monthly if you want to try, quarterly if you know you will use it.
- 2Backups: All plans include a free backup. Start with that option, and add more if necessary.
- 3Server software: Paper is the most recommended option for vanilla servers or with plugins. For mods use NeoForge, Forge or Fabric. If you want to import a modpack, you can do it by selecting Modrinth or CurseForge.
- 4Java and Minecraft version: Choose the Minecraft version that you and your friends will use. For modpacks, verify the version required by the pack. Do not change the Java version unless you know it is necessary.
- 5Summary and checkout: Review your selection and, if everything is in order, proceed to checkout by clicking the 'Order' button. You can pay securely via PayPal or credit card via Stripe.
Access the Control Panel
Once the purchase is completed, you will receive an email with the credentials. Access panel.zelora.es and locate your server in the list. From here you can:
- Start, stop and restart the server
- View the console in real time
- Manage files (server.properties, plugins, worlds…)
- Check CPU and RAM usage
Edit server.properties
In the panel's file manager open server.properties and check that everything is configured to your liking. These are the values that our users change the most:
# Message of the day (visible in the server list)
motd=§a§lMy Zelora Server §r§7| §fSurvival
# Maximum number of players
max-players=20
# Default game mode (0=survival, 1=creative, 2=adventure)
gamemode=0
# Difficulty (peaceful, easy, normal, hard)
difficulty=normal
# Allow players to enter the server without whitelist
white-list=falseAfter saving server.properties you must restart the server from the panel for the changes to take effect.
